The Collection
The collection of The African Information Center (TAIC) consists of locally collected art and artifacts that explore the history and experience of Black People in Philadelphia and the broader community. In addition to the art objects commonly collected in museums, such as paintings, sculptures and masks, TAIC also collects and displays less commonly curated objects. Postcards, bookmarks, stamps, business cards and other household objects shed a unique light on the Black Community and serve to represent the world of the working class, which is often under represented in museums.
